> Frequently Asked Questions
Is it difficult to take fingerprints? We aim to make the process as simple as possible and send to you our special moulding compound and step-by-step instructions to follow. With younger children it maybe easier to do this while they are asleep but the whole process is very quick and simple. Are the step-by-step instructions easy to follow? All of our instructions have been tries and tested on friends and family and we have taken suggestions from them in ways which we can improve the instructions to give us a great success rate! How long will it take for you to send me an impression kit? As soon as we receive your order we aim to send out your impression kit within 48 hours. You will be advised as soon as it is dispatched. What happens if I return the prints and they are not of a good quality? The fingerprint will show up on your piece of jewellery exactly the same way as it shows on the moulding compound, therefore if you imprint the child's fingernail in the mould this will show on the final piece also. All prints are quality checked on return to us and if we are not 100% happy with the mould we will contact you. If you require a new moulding kit there will be a one off charge of £4.50. Is there a limit to the amount of letters I can have engraved on my chosen piece? Most charms accommodate up to 6 or 7 letters with a fingerprint. If you are not sure if the name will fit onto your chosen piece, then please contact us to discuss your requirements. What will my fingerprint look like and is there an age limit in order for a clear fingerprint to be seen? All fingerprints are different, unique and individual to each person. Fingerprints of babies and young children are not as developed ass that of an older child or adult. I personally feel that these should be done after the child is 9 months old in order for a fingerprint to have developed. Having said that I have taken prints of younger children which have been detailed and defined. Some parents aren't worried whether the fingerprint lines are defined or not and like to have the outline and shape just as a keepsake. Are all of the charms you make Sterling Silver? No, all of charms are pure .999 silver. This means that it is 99% silver unlike 925 sterling silver which is 92.5%, the rest being other alloys, mostly copper. Is your jewellery handmade? Absolutely, each piece is totally handcrafted and no machinery is used in the process at all. What if I would like a smaller size charm than the standard? Unfortunately we cannot tailor make items to specific sizes as we use metal shape cutters for the jewellery shapes. What do you do with my fingerprint impression once the item has been made? We keep the fingerprint mould for approximately 12 months and then they are destroyed. Therefore if you decide to order more items within 12 months then we can use the fingerprint provided originally. How long until I receive my fingerprint jewellery? We aim to have your order ready witin 14 days of receiving your impressions back (we will email you to let you know that these have arrived to us safely), this may take slightly longer during busy periods such as Christmas, Mothers Day and Fathers Day. If you require your order for a specific date then please let us know and we will do our best to ensure that you receive it in time. What happens if I do not like my item? We are sure that you will be delighted with our products as we are very dedicated artisits who take a good deal of pride in our work. If there is a problem that is our fault we will remake your item and reimburse and extra postage costs. However, being a small company and by the nature of the product, if you simply do not like the result we will not be able to offer a refund, we do hope you understnad this. Will my fingerprint jewellery scratch or dent? If an item is worn everyday or hung on a chain with other items, inevitably it will gradually scratch and age. |
